Aesthetica is a rather sleek British art and culture magazine that covers photography, visual art, music, film and theatre. Its primary focus is on contemporary visual art, with a significant photography component.

The magazine was started by two York St John students who were initially motivated to promote equality, creativity and diversity within the literary arts in and around the York area. Since 2003 it has gone to become one of the most established arts magazines in the UK and beyond (180,000 circulation) while – refreshingly – remaining based in York. It has launched its own film festival, The Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF) and an art prize, The Aesthetica Art Prize, as well as funding a creative writing award.
