Culture & Ideas
Magazines are full of ideas and those that explore facts, truth, predictions and trends can truly enlighten, often in language that’s easier for us to grasp. The Funambulist, Delayed Gratification, Works That Work and others are a good example of magazines delivering cyclical intellectual and psychological nourishment of outstanding quality as well as the propensity to constantly surprise us or challenge long-held views.
Literary magazines and journals are a passion of ours yet so many are found only in libraries or learning institutions. They’ll have to fight for your attention in bookshops where they are only accessories and they’re rarely spotted in newsagents. But literary magazines don’t only provide a portal to other worlds, they’re often beautifully produced works that provide a satisfying reading experience on a number of levels and open us to a range of unfamiliar writers and artists.
